I was driving out to our farm two days ago and a deer carcass caught my eye in the ditch on the way, almost at the end of the road about a quarter to half mile from our farm entrance. This is on a dead end gravel road miles from a highway with only one older lady living at the end of the gravel...
Has anyone tried loading these? I was thinking about trying some for a light deer load for my kids as a first deer cartridge. Hornady makes a 120 Grain SST but would like to stick to Nosler and think the 110 would be an awesome little bullet.
A friend has the standard size one, I am looking at this one which is larger but wondering if its too big. Curious if anyone has experience with this?

I took a mature 3x3 whitetail this year with a 90 grain Accubond out of a .243 at 260 yards. Muzzle velocity was 3,066 so impact velocity was right at 2,400. Retained 58.2 grains and expanded to .516. Perfect mushroom. He was bedded when I shot him and never got up, shot behind the front...

Recently finished a new build and my first custom rifle:
Pre-64 Action
Kreiger 9 twist, #4 Stainless Steel left it 26" after cutting off the unsupported portion
Pillar and glass bedded a Pre-64 altered stock (for now)
Vortex HS-T 6-24 x 50 mm
It turned out pretty well. I didn't have much luck...
I recently purchased Para Expert 1911 in 45 auto. I have shot approximately two boxes of ammunition through it. I recently took it to my gunsmith to have the trigger cleaned up a little. At the gunsmiths yesterday I fired two test rounds. The first test round the case was completely destroyed...
Has anyone used one of these? I am probably going to buy one. I took a couple of tumbles this year, one stuffing some dirt in my muzzle requiring me to stop and clean my rifle, thought this may be a good way to eliminate that.
Tried some 90 BSB in front of 62 Grains of H4350 and the results were disappointing. Thanks to Lanman who graciously gave me 12 of these, I was able to try a few out. Now it makes me want to go buy a box and try to find a good load for them. My groups on my .270 started to open up with 130 Grain...
I saw this in a SG store the other day. It isn't even on their website yet. So close to 22, why would they make it? Does anyone have the inside scoop on this?
Excellent customer service. I ordered some reloading supplies and one of the depth gauges came in 300 Win Mag not 300Wby. They sent me a new one overnight and did not make me return the old one. The customer service rep was excellent very friendly and was willing to do anything to make it right...
I was going to develop a load for my 243 Winchester Model 70 featherweight. I had completely pulled the copper out of my barrel with JB's bore paste so I fired a string of Federal 80 grain soft points as fouling shots. The fouling shots measured about an inch and a quarter. I then fired four...
I recently picked up a USRAC Winchester Model 70 in 300 Weatherby and just got a chance to shoot it. It came with a couple boxes of ammo, both factory Weatherby ammunition in 180 grain Weatherby Spitzers and 180 grain Nosler Accubonds. I wanted to try them out compared to my Winchester Model...
Just picked up a Model 70 in 300 Weatherby. Long story, kind of a mix up, bought it sight unseen advertised as a serial number of 661xxx and turned out to be G61xxx. Disappointed to get it and find out it was not a Pre-64. I was going to take the action and build the 7x57 but not anymore. After...
I just worked up a new load for my 270, 61 Grains of H4831SC and 130 grain Ballistic Tips and have been itching to use them prior to hunting season. I have taken 3 coyotes with them in the past week and all the pics are pretty much too graphic to post. Huge exit holes and one it blew the whole...
