    308 vs. 7mm-08

Thanks guys! I like both as well although I have never owned either in a hunting rifle. Do have an AR in 308 and have greatly enjoyed shooting it but not at any distance. I think I will go with the 7-08. When he graduates from college we can get something bigger if he needs it. Thank you for...

    308 vs. 7mm-08

I have a Rem 700 that I won last spring a Mule Deer Foundation Dinner. The rifle is chambered in 243. I want to build my son, who will be twelve this spring, a rifle that he could use for deer, antelope and elk. I plan to have Pac-Nor replace the barrel and true the action for Christmas and then...

    Ideal Elk Rifle

Which ever rifle I have in my hands during the hunt!! I have killed three elk with the Sako 75 in 300 wsm. One elk with a 30-378 Roy in an Accumark. One elk with a 257 Roy in an ultralight. I really wanted to hunt with my 7mm STW but for some reason my accuracy always falls apart...

    Working up pistol loads

Last summer I purchased a Glock 20sf but have not shot it much since ammo is so expensive. I finally have the components together: Nosler 180 JHP, Starline brass, WLP primers, and was finally able to score four pounds of blue dot. I have very little experience in pistol reloading. Typically...

    Jackson's first range day!

Excellent Job! I have found that shooting/hunting/fishing is/are excellent motivators for my children as well! My 7 year old boy Jacob (the oldest of four) was lagging at reading at the beginning of the year. I told him that if he worked as hard as he could and improved his reading scores, I...

    state sen. Leland Yee

I have watched this fool for a while now. This hypocrite has been behind the vast majority of the legislation to ban everything from the bullet button to magazine kits etc. I finally figured it out.... He doesn't want competition at least legal competition. I hope that they lock his illegal...

    Late Season Muley

Another excellent story Dr. Mike. Thank you for sharing. If you ever need a pack mule let me know. I would be willing to work for a fine supper  ! Also, can't wait to hear about the Smokies.

    Reloading plan and questions

Congratulations on the initiation into the excellent hobby/passion that is reloading. The only thing that I would add is that I would check SPS more often than weekly. Bullets, Brass, etc. fly off there shelves in a matter of minutes.

    Minox binoculars and scope.

I hope that the little binoculars work well. I have one on order for my eldest boy.

    Minox binoculars and scope.

I am looking for a pair of binoculars for my seven year old son. He has had two different Tasco cheapy binoculars and after about 2 years they fall apart. I am hoping to spend under $80. They need to be small enough for a seven year old to hold for some glassing sessions. I was on camera...

    Its time to start

It seems a daunting task. I had the RCBS supreme kit for several months before I began reloading--just because I am very found of my fingers. Just be sure to take your time. If you know someone whom reloads, and you trust, I would ask them to let you watch them work completely through a...

    .300 wsm

Not sure if you need a heavy bullet, but in my Sako 75, I run the 180 grain Accubond over 69 grains of RL 22 and a Federal 215m primer. The 69 grains of RL22 is book max so of course you would need to work up to that load. Good luck

    26 Nosler ?

Another excellent reason to have multiple rifles to shoot, not that I need another reason to purchase another rifle
