    Cartridge for youth hunter

Wow, I really do appreciate the time and effort you all put into responding; much appreciated. Two consistently mentioned outside the parameters I was looking (one lower; one higher) were the 243 and 7mm-08 (some others but sporadically). Now the wheels are turning. I do reload and H4895 was...

    Forestry for hunting land

I forgot one thing. You stated you were making brush piles…do you plan on burning them? I don’t and here is why. Bobcats love brush piles. So do fox, so do rabbits. If you like trapping or predator hunting or rabbit hunting keep the brush piles.

    Forestry for hunting land

Outstanding job on acquiring raw land and having a successful hunt. So, I’ve skimmed through most if not all of your posts regarding your projects. I do have some input; whether it’s valuable or not is up to you. Background on my opinions: I bought 40+ acres in the Adirondacks back in 2002...

    Cartridge for youth hunter

My kiddo is about to start hunter's education in January and wants to hunt the following fall (I'm pretty excited). She'll be 10 before you know it. So, I have her on a 223 bolt action right now and she doesn't mind it. But... There are several problems with her using my 223: 1) it is too...

    2016 NM Buck Hunt

The draw: In NM non-residents not using a guide/outfitter service are given 6% of the quota. That’s not taking into account all those applying which drops that 6% down depending on the number of permit applications for each given hunt unit. Why did I apply in NM? I was stationed there while...

    2016 Hunting Pictures

Congrats to all who posted. No matter the kill they always create a memory that can be recalled later. Unfortunately, the year is almost past us now, oh where did the time go...

    Ten rounds yearly....maybe?

Cost? Did anyone mention cost? I have six centerfires: 223, 223 WSSM, 264 Win Mag, 30-06, 300 SAUM, 338 Win Mag. Now, which two do you think get the most practice time? Anyone who said 223 first followed by the 30-06 are winners. MidwayUSA has the ol' $ per round on their website. For three...

    I have a confession...

Sadly, I sold mine. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Wish I could have that decision back. It was nothing special, just a Marlin 336 but the thought of me selling it still bothers me today. It wasn't even that I needed money.

    Nolser M48 at Cabelas

I've been tough on Nosler because of the 26 Nosler ammo shortage and lack of marketing but that's a SWEET looking rifle right there.

Why is anyone getting (or has gotten) a 26 Nosler

Thanks for the link. It was quite educational for me as I don't have the history/knowledge most folks around here do discussing certain cartridges.
