I'd be grateful if someone would run this one for me:

.30-06
Rem brass, WLR
H 4895
165 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip
3.32" OAL
22" barrel

Thanks!!

Dougfir I cannot help you with quickload but I can tell you that IMR4350 and H4350 work very well with 165 gr. bullets in the 30-06. Anywhere from about 56-58 grs. seems to be a sweet spot with those powders. My own personal load being 57.4 grs. of IMR4350. I use CCI 200 or Federal 210 match primers. Best of luck.

If I'm not mistaken h4895 is used in reduced or youth loads. Never used it myself so not much use here but 6mm Remington is correct, one of the 4350 powders is right at home with the 165s.

Yes, the reason I asked is that I'm trying to work up a reduced recoil load for this rifle. It's surprising that this powder isn't listed in Nosler's data. I would certainly start with IMR 4350 if I was looking for a standard velocity load.

Hodgon used to have reduced loads recipes on there site. Have you checked there? Do a Google search for 06 reduced loads, you should find what you are looking for.

Depends on the amount you wanna reduce them, but H4895 is really good using the 60% rule. Meaning, take the max charge and multiply time .60 and that is the starter. Hodgdon says you can load that light and continue right on up to the max. I'd think H4895 should be good for the 165's since 4064 is pretty danged good as well.

Hodgdon lists 47.5 as the max with a 165 Sierra SBT. I'd feel just fine with using that with the Ballistic Tip.
