OK another Quickload request

A 375 Ruger with a 300gr Cutting Edge bullet loaded to 3.73" OAL in a 24 and 26" barrel. I'm trying to decide what barrel length to go with and to see if 2700fps is possible.

I could use one for a 300RUM with 208 Amax's too.

Is Quickloads really only 153.00? I thought it use to be 300+. Is Neco the place (only place) to buy it from? I see Quickdesign is separate and maybe that is why it's cheaper now? I'll have to spend the $$ fairly soon if that is all it is now.

Unfortunately, Cutting Edge Bullets are not yet in the inventory. You can make a projection is you have the dimensions of the particular bullet you want to examine, however.

All it says is the 300gr MTH bullets are 1.723" long and are set up to be 1.141" out of the case.

updates are about $20 too . I'm not sure how current Dr Mike's quickload is , so I just looked at my quickload , I don't have cutting edge bullets listed either . I'm pretty sure I have the newest edition . I wonder what needs to happen to get the cutting edge bullets on quickload ? I've been thinking on going over to talk with these guys , if I do I'll try to think to mention quickload to them .

I doubt it. It show a BC of .750".

if I understand the concept correctly cutting edge might be hard to find something to use in it's place on quickload . I don't think the cutting edge bullet gets engraved by the rifling . the cutting edge bullets use a , I'll call it pressure band that gets cut by the rifling the rest of the bullet just glides through the barrel . I'm guessing this would cause much lower pressure since the bearing surface is so little .

what I'm told is they have 1800 yard range right at their shop that they use to test the bullets . I'm assuming the BC data given is actually from them shooting their bullets and checking drops .

Their bullets are somewhat like Barnes, they have groves cut to reduce drag. They still engage the rifling more than the seal tite band. It's used more as a reference for seating depth. All of their BC's they have listed they have tested with drops and some of them Bryan Litz tested for them.

I did use Barnes bullets , but I've never tried the cutting edge bullets . that's good to know Bryan Litz has tested their bullets . the cutting edge shop is only about 15 miles from me .
