Have any of you fellas tried h-1000 and 160 gr. accubonds in a 7mm saum? I purchased some in one of those hodgdon powder packs. There was also a powder in it called retumbo. Have any of you tried it? I just bought the 160 gr. accubonds, and they look impressive like they will really fly.

The Accubonds shoot really well. They shoot very much like the Ballistic Tips but retain MUCH more weight on impact.

I shoot the 160gr AccuBond from a 7mm-08 and a 7STW. It is very accurate in both.

Retumbo is a slow burner with burn rate between H1000 and H870. It works well in larger cases, but I suspect it may be a tad slow for your SAUM. I use 81 grains behind the 160 AccuBond in my 7MM STW, for top velocities and great accuracy. Regards, Eagleye.

In the data I have it shows 66 grs. of retumbo with a 175 gr. bullet going 2863. It also shows 67 grs. of H-1000 with a 160 gr. bullet going 2931. I just downloaded this data from Hodgdons web site. I'm going to try the H-1000 with 160 gr. bullets. My particular rifle, a remington 700 really likes the factory loads with a 160 gr. nosler Partition. They chronographed at 3015 average. Those factory loads were really hot. After full length sizing and triming they still would barely go in the chamber. I'm looking for a load a little less hot.
