What is the recommended twist rate for the 6.5 Swede to shoot the 140 grain bullets? I appreciate any input.

Some 1 in 9 twists can shoot 140's well but given the choice 1 in 8 twist barrels will spin those long and sleek 140's better.

A good friend has a Sauer 202 Elegance with a 1-9 twist & it really doesn't like 140gn bullets much.
120gn bullets shoot really well though with consistently tight touching hole groups @ 100yds. But man, it's a heavy rifle!

Another friend has a Sako Finnlite with 1-8 twist & it just loves 140gn pills....amazing the difference between the two rifles.

Both with their respective recipes have put down quite a number of reds last season..ten each.
The Sauer (120gn BT) took two stags & eight hinds, while the Sako (SST) took 5 stags & five hinds.

8 twist will shoot anything from 100 to 160 gr bullets really well in my experience.

Sounds like an excellent choice. I believe billbam went with a 1 in 8 Shilen on his 260 Rem and it is doing quite well.
