I'm curious about the velocities of the 6.5-300 Weatherby wildcat. I know there is talk of a .264 Weatherby Magnum produced by Weatherby Inc., but at this point it is still talk and no hat, so to speak. Thanks for any info on this wildcat.

H869 isn't on Quickloads? You'd think that and 872 would be at the top of the list for velocity.

It is listed

Hodgdon US 869 102.9 90.6 5.87 3245 97.0 65000 16820 1.275 ! Near Maximum !

That surprising it is that far down in velocity (I didn't look that far down in the list honestly because I wasn't expecting that). In large overbore cases it's almost always at the top for velocity. In my 30-338 Lapua Imp 869 and 872 are the fastest powders with 230's.

Thanks for the load data. With the choices now for big cases for .26 caliber bullets, I think this wildcat has some legs to it, so to speak.

If you push the new 142gr ABLR to 3300fps you get 17moa at 1k yards(200yd zero) and 1000ft-lbs at 1200yds. A nice long range hammer.

Wow, that would be a heckuva rifle to reach out FAR... Talk about bringing the energy...
