458 partition?

I would guess its based on manufacturing set up time and the production volume being run. I will try to get an answer for you.

I've been wondering the same thing. It's not only the new Partition but the solids too. I understand amoritizing the cost of R&D, tooling/new machinery and not to mention commodity prices... But I can get a .458 swift for a buck each as well as GS Custom and Barnes solids for about $1 per as well. What gives?

ps - I did just receive two boxes of the .416 solids and they do glitter like gold!

Seems like it would be easier to charge a penny more for all the Nosler bullets to recoup the costs.

I expect it wont be long before we remember when bullets were only $4 apiece. I'll be carving my own arrows when that day comes.
