Hey guys going to see if any one had experience with this combo. Would like to have a safe starting point. If someone could please run a quickload that would be great too.
6.5 creedmoor
Nosler 140 partion
Peterson brass 50.2 water capacity
Rl 26 I also have imr 4451 and h4350
22 in barrel.
Not sure on coal till i get home and measure. This rifle has a very long throat. I am going to try and pick up some bullets today so I will have a better idea on overall length tonight. I have been trying the 125 pt but haven't been able to get them to shoot any better than about 1.5 so I thought I would try the 140. The 125 pt is being very erratic. 2 almost touching and then one way out and it's never the same shot. Generally it's about a 1.5 out. This will be the first 140g bullets I have shot in this gun. I have data for h4350 and have some powder. I thought I would try rl 26 with the 140 so maybe I can get the most velocity possible. Thank you for any help.

Dr. Mike thank you for your time and knowledge. By far rl26 is going to get me the most velocity. What is your opinion on the Partition does it like to be pushed to max velocity or does it seem to like the lower velocity. As far a seating depth I guess I need to start at the lands and go back from there. What do they normal like as far as jump?

Mark graciously pointed out that I submitted a case capacity based on SAAMI measurements. If I adjust for 50.2 grains H20 capacity, it yields a significantly lower charge.

Do take note that these charges are considerably lower than originally projected. Again, thank you, Mark, for catching this.
 
Thank you. The fired water capacity 50.2. I will get a measurement tonight on overall length it is going to be a lot longer than 2.800 so that will free up a little space also. That did make a big difference on the charge weight.

Seems like RL-26 will have some compression, a drop tube should help. Velocity looks amazing too. H4350 has been scarce, and lots of shooters are loving the IMR 4451 as a substitute for H4350

I haven't tried the 140 Partition in the CM, but as long as your bullets are seated straight I wouldn't worry too much about the jump into the rifling. For the most part you just have to kick the Partitions in base with either a faster powder, or a slower powder towards the upper end. Both of those seem to get them to shoot pretty well in just about all of my rifles. They haven't been fussy for me.

26 has worked well with the 147 ELD's for me, so I would guess it should be good with the 140 Partition. It will be a full case load. It does make speed pretty nicely though.
 
Alright guys went and shot at lunch. These 140 partion shot a lot better than the 125g or! Everything was around a inch or so with the exception of 46.2 I would say it's a half inch. The few things I noticed is everything is shooting a tringale pattern with all loads except the 46.8 load which could have been me. This load work up was with rl26. The cbto was 2.470 I am 5 thousand off the lands. I also noticed my barrel stayed a lot cooler with this rl 26 than it does with h4350. I don't have a good chrony but will try to get my hands on one and see where I am on velocity. I guess my next move will be to load up some more of 46.2 load and see if I can duplicate that group. I think I read on here something associated with seating depth and triangle shaped groups can someone refresh my memory on that. Any advice would be great on what y'all see in the picture and anything else I should do.

Usually if it’s a perfect triangle you wanna go towards the lands. If you get two close and 1 out yiu wanna move away from the lands.

46.2 looks great from here. That’s not a bad spot to be with a Partition.

Thank you. I am going to load up some more of the 46.2 tonight and see if I can duplicate the group. I may also try above 47g. Didn't see any psi signs. Probably try up to 47.5. I am just 5 thousand off the lands now so I really don't want to get any closer. According to the quick load that Dr Mike did for me the 46.2 gr load should be around 2760fps or so. These are by far the best groups I have gotten with the Partition bullets.

I shot this 4 shot group to verify the 46.2 g load of rl26 from yesterday. The load from yesterday was just a little tighter but I am still good with this one. I also shot 47.5 and that is the 3 shot group. I may need to revisit it also. I will gain about 150fps according to the quick load that Dr Mike did for me. I am really beginning to like this rl26. I am also excited to finally get a nosler Partition to shoot in my rifle!! I just wish it was still hunting season so I could shoot a deer with it. It's going to be a long time till November!
