    260 Rem, R17, 142gr. ABLR

Sorry to leave you all hanging. After several range trips I settled on 43grs and started on seating depth. In this barrel the ABLR likes to jump. I got to .07" off the lands and decided to take it out to 425. I only had time for 4 rounds before I had to head out of town, but here you go. I sent...

    RIP BF375

Bob helped me thru every part of my Mashburn build. I told him what I wanted and he told me how to get it done. I actually had the Mashburn in the car the morning that I heard the news so I hit the range right after work. Put the first 2 in the same hole. I think I need to switch to mag primers...

    260 Rem, R17, 142gr. ABLR

Thank you. I'll load some at 42 and 42.5 and see what the accuracy looks like.

    260 Rem, R17, 142gr. ABLR

I'm getting 55.3grs level with the top of the brass. With my seating depth I was coming up with 48.8grs usable capacity.

    260 Rem, R17, 142gr. ABLR

I'm not interested in running anywhere near 70k. Period. I wasn't sure how much being able to seat the bullet out to 2.92 oal would help with speed and pressure. I know there is no free lunch, you can't have one without the other. If I want to go fast I'll grab my Mashburn RIPBob. Someone on...

    .260 and RL-17

Could someone please run the QL numbers for the same input as tackdrivers post but with a 22" barrel and a COAL of 2.91? I just picked up one of the campfire special MRC 1/8 260's. it has plenty of mag box.

    7mm Mashburn and IMR7977

I have some bad news friends. I shot today in -7 degree below zero temps. In a 70 degree temp swing I lost 100fps and accuracy went way south. Back to the drawing board

    7mm Mashburn and IMR7977

Loaded up 5 more seated .015" deeper. 5 shots in .9". I think I'll load up 50 more. 13 rounds total for load development ain't to bad.

    7mm Mashburn and IMR7977

I think I like the 7977. It seams to be easy to work with. It took 2 rounds to find my 3200 fps mark. I loaded up 6 more and put those into a tight but wide 1.58" group.

    7mm Mashburn and IMR7977

I hear ya Joel. I'm in Minnesota so I know how long it takes spring to roll around. Good thing is, I hate bugs that bite and waiting for barrels to cool off. So the colder it gets the more I shoot. Another bonus is I have never had to deal with others at the range when it's below zero.

    7mm Mashburn and IMR7977

Have any of you tried this combo? I loaded up a couple today to check fps. Starting with a 7mm wby min of 72.5grs clocked at 3148fps with a 160gr. Nosler PT. 73grs. gave me 3217fps. with no signs of pressure. I can not wait to load some more to see how they shoot. For reference H1000 and a...

    The transition is complete.

I got my Sumtoy the other day. I'm impressed!! 145 Heavyweight #7's in 10" at 40 yards. Hevi Magblend went 125 in 10" with 1/4oz. less shot.

    Rem 760/7600?

Thanks Deerslayer. It's a dream to carry and fits like a fine shotgun. Ceramics is desert sage. And the lop was made at 12.5" for that coat you need in Minnesota deer season.

    Rem 760/7600?

Here is one in 06 that I spruced up a little. As a bonus, remove the scope and you can run it with a rear peep and front post.

    The transition is complete.

I got tired of toting around a all steel Browning BPS 12ga slug gun for deer season. Then came spring and I swapped barrels to a rifle sighted 20.5" turkey barrel for. Last year I sold the BPS and picked up a FN SLP gas operated slug gun and a old Win 1300 turkey gun. The FN brought me my best...
