    LEOSA Retired Officer Qual today

That one chest shot, high and left, at about 11 o'clock... ALMOST put it out of the maximum score area. I think that was fired from my support hand. Didn't group real well with those shots. I shall have to practice more with my weak/support hand. The good ol' Ruger 22/45 and a pile of 22 long...

    LEOSA Retired Officer Qual today

This afternoon I got to hang out with some law enforcement buddies and shoot the LEOSA qualification, which allows retired officers to carry concealed in all 50 states. My old pard and I each shot 100% on the fairly easy course. Yup, Kimber 1911.

    NEEDS SAYING

I'm not sure "liberal" is even the correct term anymore. Fondly remember some of the liberal ideas of championing free speech etc... Am thinking that the "leftists" or "American Marxists" are what we're facing now. Some of my liberal friends are bewildered about what their party has become. I've...

    Leupold Vari-X 2.5-8 adjustments

Also - I think it was famous hunter & gun-writer Finn Aagaard who was so fond of the 2.5-8x Leupold when it was introduced back in the 1980's. I owned one for a while, then silly me, I sold the rifle and scope! Thought it was probably the best all-around hunting scope I'd ever used. Guy

    Leupold Vari-X 2.5-8 adjustments

Really old scope - and those friction-adjust Leupold scopes tend to do a great job of holding their zero. I've still got a couple of 'em. One is a 2.5x that I've used on heavy-loaded 45-70 Marlin rifles with absolutely no problem holding zero. Guy

    Cheap .30cal Heavyweights

If that is the good old 220 gr RNSP Hornady... At that price, it's a bargain!

    Cheap .30cal Heavyweights

It looks like the good old 220 RNSP Hornady that's long been used in the 30-06 and 300 magnums. I wonder if the 30-30 or the 300 BO produce enough velocity for it to open up on game? It's a fine bullet for the 30-06 and 300 magnums for sure. Guy

    Couple of Hornady 7mm Bullets

Congrats on your hunts and thank you for showing us those bullets. ELD-X sure expands well out there at nearly 600... Guy

    And yet another 45 Super

Cool. I think one of my 45 ACP Kimbers might end up becoming a Super... :) Guy

Fermin Garza sights for my little 44

Serious big game revolver right there! The sights look great. I think maybe I'll get a set of those for my Ruger Bisley Hunter... :) Guy

New article and video up with the 30 caliber 200 gr Nosler Partition playing a key role:

That sounds like a great dinner Gerry! Thank you and your wife for the hospitality of letting me stay a night at your place on my way north to Alaska! Then Dr Mike hosted me overnight on my trip home a couple of weeks later. :) Except for a few short day-trips into southern BC with my...

I know that hunt was a while ago, but I finally managed to get it onto our Youtube channel - and since it involves Nosler Partitions, I thought it rated mention here. There's also a written article, with more details than the video. Same link. Regards, Guy

    Sad Day

Tough stuff right there. It's hard to lose a good dog. You made a wise decision. Am sure that I'm on my last dog now. Not looking forward to his last day. Guy
