    Seating Depth Consistency

bboswell, try it for yourself. I load most of my rifle rounds on a forster Co-Ax and can easily seat a bullet 0.002-0.003 deeper by raising the handle an inch or so off a seated round and bumping the handle hard to put more pressure into the system. Using competition seaters. the distance...

    Seating Depth Consistency

Neck tension can also cause a problem in seating depth consistency. If you are using an expander ball when sizing make sure it is polished to a mirror finish. I use both the Redding and Forster micrometer seaters. vary seldom do I get 0.001-0.002 variation. The amount of pressure you use to seat...

Setting your bullet seater.... Walk me through it once more

The die may not need to screw down firmly against the press, probably doesn't need to do so. That is why the cases were being crushed. There is an internal crimp in the RCBS dies, that is what is causing the crushed cases. Put an unloaded case in the press, run it all the way up and then screw...

Setting your bullet seater.... Walk me through it once more

you didn't say which caliber. For rifle or pistol, you don't want the built-in crimper to hit the case while you are seating the bullet. Put an unloaded case in the shell holder and run it all the way up in the press. Screw the die down until it makes contact with the case. Back the die up about...

    Pro-Hunter vs. Gameking

58.8 grs. of IMR-4350 165gr Sierra BTHP Gameking has been very accurate in over a dozen 30/06s that I load for. That set-up has killed a lot of whitetail, hogs, one Elk and other animals. Rick.

The pockets themselves look fine but what is that dark spot on the headstamp of each case? Rick.

    COL Variation

Seat and crimp in separate operations. Check for seating stem fit to bullet nose. Determine how far down the case the taper crimp is going. you don't need to go past the base of the bullet. Rick.

    Sierra Gameking BTHP

I and friends I load for have used them for years. They have taken many whitetails from almost point blank to past 600yds, many hogs, one antelope and one Elk. I have shot them in 25cal, 270, 7mm and 30cal. All worked without question. One of my go to bullets. Rick.
